Anies Leads Inflation Control Team Meeting

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan leads Jakarta Inflation Control Team (TPID) towards Ramadan month in 2018.

This meeting was also attended by Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno; Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah; Bank Indonesia (BI) representative for Jakarta, Trisno Nugroho; and OJK's Regional 1 Office Head for Jakarta and Banten, Bambang Widjonarko.

Then, Polda Metro Jaya Security Intelligence Director, Kombes Pol Umar Effendi; Jakarta and Banten Perum Bulog Division Head, Mansur Siri; and boards of director from BUMD in food sector.

He said, inflation rate in Jakarta for the first quarter of 2018 is 3.23 percent. While national inflation reaches 3.40 percent.

"Inflation in Jakarta is still lower than national level," he stated at City Hall, Tuesday (4/24).

In this high level meeting, his side also discusses about maintaining staple commodity price and supply towards Ramadan and Eid.

"Especially, we want price stability in all Jakarta areas can be maintained. This is the first meeting in 2018. Next we will conduct meeting routinely once per three months," he conveyed.

Meanwhile, Jakarta BI Representative Head, Trisno Nugroho added, one way to suppress inflation rate is to stock enough food.

"We hope in one or two months ahead, Jakarta can be a national standard in controlling inflation rate," he affirmed.
